Educate a Girl

Education is one of the strongest predictors of long-term health, economic stability, and community well-being. Yet for millions of girls around the world, attending school remains out of reach — not because of a lack of ability or ambition, but because of systemic poverty, gendered expectations, and limited access to basic resources.

In rural regions of Uganda, families often face impossible choices between school fees, food, healthcare, and daily survival. When resources are scarce, girls are frequently the first to be withdrawn from school.

Prakasa’s Educate a Girl program exists to remove these barriers.

Through community partnerships and direct support, we fundraise to cover:

• school tuition and registration fees
• uniforms, books, and learning materials

• basic necessities that allow girls to remain enrolled and focused

By addressing the economic realities behind school dropout, we aim to ensure that girls who want to learn are able to continue their education with dignity and stability.

To date, Prakasa has supported 16 girls to remain in school — strengthening pathways toward educational attainment, leadership, and long-term opportunity.

But the impact extends far beyond the classroom.

Research consistently demonstrates that when girls complete their education, communities experience:

• improved health outcomes
• increased household income and food security
• lower rates of early marriage and pregnancy
• stronger leadership and civic participation

At Prakasa, we believe that every girl deserves the chance to learn, grow, and shape her own future. The Educate a Girl program is one step toward building that reality.
